The scare of a lifetime

Today was a scare of a lifetime. I was awoke today by Gabby hitting me ( She sleeps with me) at 7:59 am. Crap I though I just over slept. I spring out of bed yell up at the girls that they have 15 min to get ready and out the door for school. They came rushing down the steps, and by 8:04 am they were dressed, and getting hair brushed and teeth brushed. I then go get my phone and look down to see I have missed a call from the school telling me they had a 2 hour delay. I laughed at my own stupidity. Tell the kids and we all sit down to just take a breather. Gabby was happy playing with her toy, and all of a sudden she bellows out this blood curdling scream... I pick up her, and all of a sudden her arms start to jerk, I sit down....then her hole body starts to jerk, harder and harder....and this point I am yelling for Kiera to call 911, Gabby is having a Grand Mal Seizure and has stopped breathing. She is still shaking and I am screaming to the 911 operator our address. Please just get here, please fast..... She is still not breathing. I then realise her throat had locked up and even CPR was not going to help. She could not take a breath. her chest was not moving, Her face was going pale, and her little lips where turning blue. Kiera sees whats going on and starts screaming "Don't let her die, Mommy don't let her die" I am at a loss on what to do..... The next three minutes seemed to be the longest of my life. Her body was limp, her eyes were getting blood shot, and her face was turning blue. I am crying just holding her. Her eyes were rolling into the back of her head. I just kept begging her to take breath. Please Gabby please just take a breath. Finally I decided to run outside with her to wait on the EMS. As the cold air hit her she took the first breath since the seizure started. Her arms went back her head went back and the sound I had been waiting on. Her gasp..... The blue receded, and color started to return to her face. Tom Stahl showed up and took her from my arms. The EMS followed right behind him. I was officially a wreck! Sent the kids next door, ran down the alley way with no shoes on still trying to buckle my bra and jumped into the EMS and off we went. The whole way over her breathing was a little off but I finally herd a faint cry, we were almost to the ER (the ems crew kept me up to date the whole ride). I had not been able to get a hold of John yet. He was still at work, and currently we only have one cell phone. who ever has Gabby has the cell phone. I have this feeling of helplessness. He had no clue what was going on....... We arrived at the ER. I call my mom to see if she had found John yet. She had! He was on his way over. The ER staff got Gabby stabilized, and found out she had a temp of 101.9. Well For Gabby that is high. She normally don't run temps. She goes  hypothermic. In the 2 1/2 years since her birth she has never ran a temp. They got her throat suctioned out, and she finally started to breath normal. John arrived and Gabby was screaming. They did a head to toe check up, blood work and x-rays and everything came back clear. Over the next two hours her pulse went back to normal, her temp stayed down and with a phone call to Dr. Wiley he gave us the clear to take her home. She is on a new antibiotic, and breathing treatments every 4 hours. Also Tylenol and Ibuprofen  rotating every 4 hours. We go in tomorrow for a check up with Dr. Wiley and hopefully get the all clear to get the tonsils and adenoids out on the 31st.  They are massive, and made it 10x worse today when her throat locked up. I learned a valuable lesson today. That living in a small town does pay off. I have never seen a group of people move so fast and swift. They made me feel safe. I handed her to tom knowing he has the knowledge to help her. I am grateful for the Payne EMS crew. Each of them gave up their morning in a matter of minutes to help us. Words can express what that means to me. I pray I will never have to experience this again, nor my children. We now have a "plan of order" on the fridge on what to do if this happens again. i also am gong to pack an emergency bag just in case with all Gabby's emergency stuff in it. Thank you all for your prayers. XOXO

I Love Belly Buttons

If The Crown Fits She Will Wear It!

So Pretty

Oh Look At my Belly with My Belly Button!
Since Gabby has received her Mik-cey button we have had some problems with drainage around it when she is sick. Most times the drainage gets in between her Mik-cey and skin and irritates it. About a year ago I stumbled across some fabric pads online and thought we would order some. I payed around $4 per pad and ordered enough for a week. When they came in the mail I must say I was a bit disappointed. They were bulky, pulled at her Mik-cey and for the most part almost hurt Gabby. So we put them aside and we went back to the gauze. (Personally I did not like the gauze either. It moved, was always rubbing and did not much help) About 3 months ago a friend of mine sent me a surprise package and in it was 8 new Belly Buttons. :) These were made of a much better quality, They fit Gabby and were in the most cutest patterns. I fell in love! The best part is they fit perfect  around her Mik-cey button! They don't bunch up, they wash up nicely and keep around her Mik-cey looking great. Every doctor we see is impressed with how nice it looks. The woman who makes these is an inspiration to me. She works, has disabled children on her own, and still finds time to make not only Belly Buttons, but Belly belts, and Trach pads! ( If Gabby ever goes back to 24 hour feeds we will invest in a Belly Belt) She does not charge an arm and leg for them either. For anyone having problems around their child's Mik-cey I would consider buying some. You can find her on facebook, Just look up "Belly Buttons". Or you can just go here www.bellybuttonsandbelts.com

You wont be disappointed! And please don't expect it to be at your door step in 24 hours. This Lady is BUSY, BUSY, BUSY but well worth the wait!
